Where it all started: with the words.
I was working for a small creative recruiting agency in New York — wearing all. the. hats. — when our owner said to me one afternoon, “Oh. Wow. You can write.” Which I knew already; I just didn’t know I could get paid for it. Climbing the ladder through the years from marketing associate to copywriter to senior manager to creative director of copy, I’ve kept the words close. Because that’s what writers do, ultimately: they write.
Some of my favorite writing work.
Sedgwick.
I’ve spent the last eight years working on content development for the global external marketing team; the last two of those eight years have been in service of a brand-new brand identity and building an in-house agency from the ground up.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to breathe new life into the organization’s longstanding values, I wrote descriptions that were dynamic, fresh, and warm — just like the new brand itself.
Seeds of Caring.
For the past several years, I’ve been the pro bono writing support for this amazing organization. Seeds of Caring is a Columbus-based (but growing!) community service program for kids, teaching them that everyone, big and small alike, can make a difference. It warms my heart and I’m so proud to be even a small contributor to this hugely important cause.
treetree.
Helping this small-but-mighty creative agency find its identity as “the agency of special projects” was a special project of its very own. At treetree, everyone got their moment in the sun. Even Maddie. (Especially Maddie.)
